Daniel Castillo

Daniel Castillo was born and raised in Caracas, Venezuela. He recieved his
first artistic recognition at the age of 13 when he won first place in the Festival De
La Voz Licenista. Daniel continued to pursue his craft and became a popular
singer in the abundant and fashionable night clubs of Caracas. Daniel's first break
came when Show Tipica Venezuela spotlighted the salsa singer on its program
televised throughout the Caribbean.
In 1989, Daniel moved to Los Angeles and was hired by band leader Henry Mora to
sing with the 13-piece L.A. Salsa All Stars. The L.A. Salsa All Stars thus
introduced Daniel to the Los Angeles scene and the singer was subsequently contracted as
the opening act for many visiting Latin luminaries including Oscar de Leon, Tito Puente,
Domingo Quinonez, Pupi Santiago, El Canario and others.
