Hollis Gentry was one of the founders of NETunes and served as Senior Vice President and Director of Artists and Repertoire for Latin Jazz, World-Beat and Reggae Music.
An original and founding member of the popular jazz group Fattburger, saxophonist/composer Hollis Gentry has also worked with Joe Sample, Stanley Clarke, Nathan East, Larry Carlton, Cannonball Adderley, Nancy Wilson, Barry White, Freddie Hubbard, Al Jarreau, Thelma Houston, Randi Crawford, Alphonse Mouzan, Rob Mullins and David Benoit.
His most recent solo recordings include Hollis Gentry's Neon and For The Record. His regular band, also called Hollis Gentry's Neon, includes bassist Rob McDonald, founder and co-leader of Positive Music recording artists Rain-bo Tribe.
In 1980, Hollis earned a master's degree in music at the University of California - San Diego and in 1991, along with bassist Nathan East, became the first musicians in the history of the University to be honored with their Outstanding Alumnus Award.
Hollis Gentry died on 5 September 2006 at the age of 51. He remains an inspiration for contemporary, traditional and Latin jazz artists worldwide.
