Founding Member - NETunes' Talent Committee
Legendary saxophonist/composer/vocalist Ronnie Laws serves as a Member of NETunes' Advisory Board and is a Founding Member of NETunes' Talent and Integrity Committees.
The Integrity Committee advises NETunes' Board of Directors on all aspects of NETunes philosophy, vision, direction and execution. As of 1 January 2006, the Talent Committee will evaluate and approve all new NETunes affiliated artists, labels and releases.
Formerly with the R&B super group Earth, Wind and Fire, sax man Ronnie Laws also recorded with Hugh Masekela and Jean Carne before launching a solo career with his debut album Pressure Sensitive. The Wayne Henderson-produced release on the Blue Note label featured the classic instrumental Always There which has been covered by several artists of note including Willie Bobo, Side Effect, Incognito and Jeff Lorber.
He has since recorded numerous solo albums including Fever, Friends & Strangers, Flame, Every Generation, Solid Ground, Stay Awake, Mr. Nice Guy, Classic Master, Mirrow Town, All Day Rhythm, True Spirit, Identity, Portrait of the Isley Brothers, Harvest for the World and Tribute to the Legendary Eddie Harris.
Ronnie Laws has collaborated with Quincy Jones, Alphonse Mouzon, Ramsey Lewis, Arthur Adams, Howard Hewett, Jeff Lorber, Sister Sledge as well as his siblings Hubert, Eloise and Debra Laws.
